Border Crossing Chicken

Quique Aviles is a poet from Washington, D.C. He was born in El Salvador and attended the Duke Ellington School for the Arts. In addition to being a poet, he is also a performer and community activist. He is the founder and co-founder of two community organizations, the LatiNegro Theater Collective and LatiNegro Theater Collective, respectively. He published his first book of poetry, _The Immigrant Museum_ in 2004. He has also written and performed in multiple one-man shows related to issues of race and identity. His commentary has been featured in several episodes of Latino USA.
